Class Read Essay on Nutrition:
Then the instructor gave a practice test to determine reading comprehension:
  1. What happen in the 1970s?
  2. What is the "Dirty Dozen?"
  3. Why is it good to eat with other people?



Homework:
Read Chapters 18 and 19
Prepare for a Quiz on both chapters
Practice your Food Oral Presentation once to an audience of at least one person. 

No class on 3/27 and 3/29- Spring Break!

Class on 3/20/18

Warm Up
Students wrote 3 simple past tense sentences about last weekend and shared with a partner. They also quizzed each other on irregular simple past tense spelling.

Workbook 40 and 41, and 45 thru 47

Students wrote drafts or outlines on their Food Oral Presentation (see photo from 3/13/18).
Then in group of 4-5 the students practiced their presentation (sitting but without reading their notes)

These same groups then discussed Chapter 16:
1. Students wrote 2-3 sentences about what they felt was the most significant action (focus on simple past tense).
2. Then individuals shared in groups and choose a recorder to write down the verbs used.
3. The instructor pulled important verbs from each group for a master list.

Homework: Reach Chapter 17 and write 6 definitions. Due on Thursday.

Practice a large hand gesture or body language for your upcoming presentation.
Example: "My worst eating habit is pancakes." Then imitate or mime pouring the syrup all over the pancakes

Present your story from when you were 15: Choose a story to report out to the whole group. Suggest edits and even a different presenter.

Homework: Read Chapter 11 and 12 (2 times: work on definitions for yourself)
