    Warm Up: Teacher wrote a table with 5 categories of adjectives
    Students wrote 5 sentences to describe themselves using the lists. Example: "I am Mexican. I am catholic. I am hardworking and honest. I am generation X.

    Warm Up: Students individually responded to questions about the St Patrick's holiday.

    Discussion of Race Vs Ethnicity?
         Whole class discussion defining what is race and what is Ethnicity. Students defined culture by the following:
    Language
    traditions
    food
    clothing
    religion

    Students ranked what aspects they could give up most easily (1) or could never give up (5).

    Review of Paragraph rules:

    Warm up: What is one thing you do every morning?
      Students listened and reported a classmates answer in present tense third person and answer for themselves. Next student repeated

    Student read their paragraphs (from previous Homework) to each other in pairs. They reported back to their partner the things they did. They paraphrased. Then they worked together and with teachers to find and write one good quote from each.

    Warm Up: Students stated one activity they do for exercise.
    Some students were quizzed about others and responded with third person conjugations of the same verb=

            I went running on Saturday night. I don't usually go running at night. I turned down a street that I don't usually run on. Then all of a sudden I heard a sound. Bam! My toe hit a bump in the sidewalk. I heard the smack of my hands as they hit the concrete. I was on the ground. There was no sound. My dog whined and I immediately felt embarrassed. Then I understood that I had really fallen hard onto the sidewalk. I got up. My hands were dirty but not bloody. My knees were stinging. I turned around and started to limp home.
